Style Update

Readers, I am so ecstatic to have 2 followers already! :) I can't wait until the day when I have 10, and then 20..maybe 50..and so on. It's tres exciting. The past week I have been feeling stirrings that something truly beautiful is on its way in my life...that just maybe the Lord will be answering some of my open-ended questions.

Anyways, as I mentioned on Facebook the other day I simply cannot get over how adorable Lauren Conrad's line at Kohl's is! If you haven't already, you should definitely take a little looksie!! Tomorrow morning mi madre and I are planning to wake up early for a hopefully quick trip to Sam's for Memorial Day grilling goodness and then to Kohl's to do some damage and increase my style stock.

Perfect capris to go with any cute summer top

Florral Chiffon dress that would look adorable with a little belt at the waist and sandals

Another floral chiffon dress. Hoping this works well with my figure because it's tres cute

Rayon ruffle tank (to go with the capris!)

I know it's summer and soon to be well over 100 degrees, but the details on this cardigan are redic.Have you ever seen anything more adorable?

Finally, I can just picture this outfit looking so cute on Miss Danica!

Wish me luck on my shopping endeavors tomorrow :) Goodnight!

Deuxième Poste

Happy Friday! And Memorial Day Weekend :)

I meant to post last night but just never got around to it. Watermelon Margaritas with the fam and watching I Am Number 4 and The Roommate took priority. For all those wondering, here's how I rated those two movies.
I Am Number 4: B-
The Roommate: C-

I had pretty low hopes at first of the first movie just because the previews made it seem pretty cheesy. But, overall for a science fiction ish movie, it wasn't bad...and the main character wasn't bad to look at either! ;p As far as the second movie goes...well, I knew from the get-go it wasn't going to be your typical A+ rated thriller movie, so I wasn't disappointed! I'm not going to lie though, there were parts that were eerily reminiscent to my current roommate! (Haha) Anyways, I'd recommend both.

Speaking of rating movies, did anyone go and watch The Hangover: Part Two? My buddy and I went to go see the midnight showing Wednesday evening. I liked it! Definitely made me laugh, as it was intended for. My favorite part besides the pictures showed at the end during the credits with monk would have to be...hard to say! I enjoyed it all. Did you know that the tattoo artist who created Mike Tyson's face tattoo (same as the one picture on the left) is trying to file a lawsuit because of Copyright Infringement? Somehow I managed to stumble upon the article. If you want to read it, just click here. I wonder if they'll make a third? Probably.

For the grand finale and in continuation of naming life's joys...

Deuxième Don: Fruit Smoothies! :) One of summer's favorite gifts it can offer in the midst of the blazing Houston heat.

Yesterday mi madre and I stopped at Jamba Juice (<3) to get each of us one of their Fruit and Veggie smoothies. These tasty suckers have one full serving of vegetables and two full servings of fruit and they are oh-so-good! My mom had their Orange Carrot Karma which was delicious (couldn't even taste the carrots) and I had the Apples N Greens. Next trip I will have to try their Berry UpBEET!

Until next time...!

Première

    1. blog
      verb /bläg/
blogged, past participle; blogged, past tense; blogging, present participle; blogs, 3rd person singular present
      1. Add new material to or regularly update a blog
        noun /bläg/
        blogs, plural
        1. A personal website on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis

Ah, to write. For some, the ending piece of a writer's composition could mean an unfortunate 10th grader having to read a betrothed novel. Fortunately for me, I quest not to bore nor cause a snore ;)

Last week I began reading this:
One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are [Book]

Towards the end of Chapter 3, there was a particular quote that struck me; "When we lay the soil of our hard lives open to the rain of grace and let joy penetrate our cracked and dry places, let joy soak into our broken skin and deep crevices, life grows" (Voskamp 55).

My mission is simple: To discover 1,000 gifts from God that daily bring me joy. Who knows, down the road I may surpass that goal!

    Le Première Don: Thunderstorms.

You know the like. And this isn't just limited to THUNDERstorms, but really all storms. Okay, not ones that involve disastrous tornadoes...But I've survived quite a few hurricanes in my day. Growing up and still to this day (if I'm in town) my dad and I (sometimes Mom too) will sit out on the back porch and watch the storms roll in. At school in Denton, I still do the same (although the puppies tend to protest)! There's something so calming to me about thunderstorms...I know, quite an oxymoron...but it's true! I can always feel a greater power when a good storm rolls in. And rainy Sundays, well, those are just the best :)
