Pinyada-Yada-Yada!
Has anyone tried the "Confetti Nails" look that's trending?
This past week I spent the afternoon with my best friend from college, Danica, running around in the Woodlands! We spent an hour and a half at Starbucks catching up, then I introduced her to the grandiosity that is Sam Moon and finally at Ulta! I could have done much more damage than I did while I was there, but one of my favorite finds was the nail polish color produced by Ulta's private-label brand of what I call Confetti color.
I figured this would be a perfect polish color for my birthday since it's like a party on my nails! The best thing about this was I got it while it was on sale for $2!!

If you're interested in getting a bottle for yourself, it's called Pinata Yada Yada and it's a clear polish with confetti sparkles that can be used on bare nails or used as a top coat to add some glitter. On my toes I put on a coat of silver polish before using it as the top coat. On the nails, Danica and I both used a bare nail and sort of "globbed" the polish on to get the desired look we wanted. I wish I had a better picture, but the camera on my phone kept failing to produce a shot I liked. It came out like this...
This is a better shot I found on Google
Let me know what y'all think! Is anyone else feeling the itch to try it?

Your mom's a Featherhead!
A good friend of mine posted on Twitter today the "To feather or not to feather" question.
The hair feathering trend really took off this Spring and has continued to remain pretty popular throughout Summer. What I love most about this trend is there's no damage done to your hair! Unlike dying, they simply thread them through a micro-link which can later be pulled out or cut out. You can do everything with them in your hair; wash, blow-dry, curl, straighten.
I gave the look a chance after one of my best friends, Logan, had them put into her hair. When I got back to Denton I kid you not, I had tons of people compliment me whether I was standing in line somewhere or sitting at Lucky Lou's. I love how they look in blonde hair because the color contrast is dramatic but it turned out really awesome in my dark hair as well (especially the bright colors)!
(Logan after having her feathers put in)
With all that said, there are a few ways to go about hopping on this trend-train. Fine Featherheads will show you which salons in your area offer feather extensions. The downside to having them put the feathers in is they typically charge from $20-60! If you know someone who took it upon themselves to buy in bulk and start their own little Featherhead business, that is the best way to save when you want them. Or, be on the lookout for when I start my own Featherhead business ;)

Let me tell you about my best friend
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce and brag about some of best friends. Friends who have loved me on my best days and even on my worst. I have my moments when I'm hard to deal with and even worse when I'm a hot-mess and these lovely ladies have stuck close through it all.
Shereditthe
My lifelong bestie
I met Shereditthe in kindergarten, been best friends for 16 years, so we've pretty much been through it all. We even managed to stay best friends while I lived in Florida for 4 years. She is probably the most caring person that I know! She will do anything for you and always knows how to cheer me up. She's also the most blonde person I've ever met! She's been up in NY for school, so I miss her dearly <3
Logan
Princess Lead-foot
Logan and I met senior year of high school so we've been best friends for about 5 years. She has the best fashion sense and greatest confidence. She went off to SFA for college while I've been going to UNT but the best times we have are always when we're both in Houston. I love love love my Logan bear, I don't know where I'd be without her!
Danica
Miss Amanda Bynes
She's been my wifey, my roomie, and my bestie. Danica and I met at Freshman Orientation and we've been besties ever since. Over the past four years we've watched each other grow up and helped each other through the tears. We've shared hot mess moments and been through it all. She's moving to Waco for grad school at Baylor next year so I will be missing constantly!
Barnes
Partner-In-Crime
Barnes and I got off on the wrong foot our sophomore year, but it wasn't anything a girl's night couldn't fix :) What I love most about Laurie is her exciting zest for life she has. She is extremely positive which I find to be endearing. Laurie's my hotmess girlfriend. We've got one last year to finish off the college experience strong!
Amy
Dearest Amy <3 Met her my first day of college freshman year! We had both signed up for the wrong textiles class and were kind of freakin out about what to do. We've seen a lot of good times together and since she's graduated and soon to be moving back home I will miss her so much this next year!
