Happy Birthday Barnes!

Today one of my good friends, Laurie Barnes turns 22!

Laurie and I met a few years ago where our friendship got off to a rocky start! Today I'm proud to say she's one of my best girlfriends here at UNT. Barnes has one of the most down to earth personalities which is by far her best trait. She's definitely the person you go to if you're having a bad day because within 5 minutes of her walking in the door she's already made some joke or laughed about something to lighten the mood. Cheers to our last year in college together! Happy Birthday Bud :)

Mac In The Box

Today I have the pleasure of introducing all of you wonderful readers to a beautiful friend of mine whom I have known since she was...oh, probably 5
Miss Robyn Leatherwood is a senior in high school and a style/beauty inspiration to young girls across the web! About a month and a half ago, Robyn started doing video tutorials, makeup hauls, and video blogs on YouTube after watching other girls who had made similar beauty videos.

Check her out, she's awesome! Her tutorials are very good, she has a very down-to-earth personality, and updates fairly often. I posted a video below for a summer everyday eye makeup tutorial. Check it out and if you like her: subscribe to her YouTube channel or follow her on Twitter

Interested in making your own video blogs, tutorials or haul videos? Robyn uses a Sony HDR-xr-150 & edits using iVideo, available on any Mac computer! :)

Update

Hi all. It's been what feels like forever since I wrote a post so I figured I would do a quick post about what I've been up to!

(Coolest Rug ever...I wonder where I can find one)

As everyone already knows, I recently moved into a new apartment. I'm still working on putting it together, but here are some pictures before it's all completely set up!

Not so exciting, but here's the pantry/dog room
Here's the living room. Hi Winston!
Other part of living room/dining room which I'm using as a study area
The bedroom. It's pretty big, but it was difficult to get it all in the shot
Le bain

Anyways, so that's all of the apartment pictures I have thus far..but when I get more I'll post them. Since moving into my apartment, I've gone to my last and final Eagle Camp, made a quick trip to Houston to get the pups, and today started school with one of my favorite professors! Today I received some very good news. It looks like my car is finally going to get fixed :) Anyone who knows the story knows just how relieved this makes me feel. Can't wait!

As I said before, this past weekend was Eagle Camp 2011!! Words can't even describe how much fun it was. Edwin, Bryan and Blaire did a totally awesome job on "Teach Me How to Scrappy". I'm kind of obsessed. Listen to it here...Seriously though! Listen! Anyways, I also posted below a song that was also made...and a few pictures (I tried to be selective because from the ones that were posted on FB I have decided camp is not a good look on me! But, it's hard to look good in 106 degree weather).

And last but not least, my co and I

With school starting, I'll try to post more regularly. Stay tuned tomorrow for some Friday Favorites :)

Your mom's a Featherhead! (Part Deux)

Hi y'all! Sorry I've been absent, but I've been moving into my new apartment since last Friday. Be on the lookout for pictures as I get more set-up :)

If you haven't read Part 1, read here

Fellow Readers, I have some very exciting news! I am in the process of starting my very own Featherhead business!! I didn't want to post anything about it until I knew it would be a reality, and I just got news from my mother in Houston that a mysterious package arrived that required a signature...my feathers! I placed the order with a supplier across seas approximately 6 weeks ago, so I was starting to become hesitant my money may have become victim to a scam or something. Low and behold it just takes quite a while for things to ship across the Pacific!!

I'll be posting more information on how to contact me if you're interested in getting premium feather hair extensions at a fraction of the cost that a salon would sell them for!

Get excited...

Gypsy Feather by Miranda Leigh is coming soon ;)

Friday Favorites (Part Neuf)

As always I hope everyone has been having a good week. I'm looking forward to moving back up to Denton this weekend into my new 1 bedroom apartment!! Woot :) Winston and Pepper seem eager to be apartment puppies again! (Or at least I know Pepper is). Can you believe I ordered my feathers from China about a month ago and they still haven't gotten here yet?! Poop. It makes me tres sad.

What's in my make-up bag

Recently I've been fixated on make-up. Ulta, Sepohra and QVC have all been on my radar during this time. Here's a few things I've been loving!

Tumblr_l26kq3btlu1qbp8ajo1_500_large

Bare Minerals
On my face I use "Fairly Light" foundation and mix it with "Warmth"
For blush and bronzer I also use "Warmth"
Top it off with "Mineral Veil"
(I've had my eye on a few things at QVC I want to pick up and switch to!)

Smashbox Softbox Eye Palette
I've been loving this all summer!
This came with 6 eyeshadows, 2 lines, a double-ended brush
and a free sample of eyelid primer

Tarte EmphasiEYES Waterproof Clay Eyeliner
LOVE this eyeliner! It kills me to spend $22 every time
but I can't get enough of the clay eyeliner. It even
comes with its own brush!

L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara
This mascara works wonders,
especially for anyone with small lashes!

Too Faced "Size Queen" Mascara
This brush is made from cork! It's almost too big of a brush,
but it finishes the job quite nicely. "Size Queen" is new
at Ulta
