Inspirational Women in History: Sophia Bush

Remember this series I began months ago? Today's tribute is a shout-out to an extremely beautiful and compassionate woman.

You all probably know her as an actress who has starred in movies such as John Tucker Must Die, Table for Three, and Van Wilder. Her most well known roll is of course, as Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill. But did you know she has taken the power of her voice as a public figure to change the world?

These are just a few of her projects that she's helped raise money for on Crowdrise.com. She has raised a total of $92,323! She's ran marathons, helped clean up after the big oil spill in the Gulf a few years ago, and toured several colleges during the last presidential election to encourage young people of America to vote and let their voice be heard. (I was lucky enough to meet her with a quick photo op when she stopped in Denton here at UNT! Jealous?) And in fact, she uses her Twitter account as a means to promote awareness on important issues. Her blog explores more causes she supports.

If you click the picture it will take you to a video where she talks about one of my favorite causes, To Write Love On Her Arms.

There's a lot to be said about a beautiful woman changing the world, even more that can be learned from them.
