House Tour :: A Mardi Gras Way of Life

Good morrow, my friends

It's a fine day here in Texas! Actually, the weather these past few days has been nothing short of spectacular. In fact, it's been under 90 degrees the past three days and we're in August!

If you're visiting over here from Kristen's giveaway, welcome and I hope you'll take a moment to get to know me and my blog. In a round-about summary...here's the spotlight photo that Kristen had on her blog last week:

The only thing you must really know is that I'm absolutely ridiculous and I love Audrey Hepburn.

If you're a regular All Things Lovely reader, hey! Welcome back! Glad to have you! And don't forget to check out the giveaway at Kristen's blog ;) haha. I feel compelled to tell everyone twice only because there's 10 prizes you could win, and one of which includes a gift from yours truly:

Okay, I'm done advertising now.  Today on the blog you're going to get a sneak peak into the space I call my home. I'm sure I've mentioned like a bajillion times that one of my roommates, Ethan aka Pauly D, is my birthday twin.

But let me take a moment to introduce to you one of my other roommates,
  Nicole

Nicole is:
aka Nikki B
My roommate
My friend
My sister in Christ
A badass
A hotmess
An artist
&
An interior designer

So...Having said all that, she's pretty much the reason that our house looks as awesome as it does. Just yesterday she helped me organize, clean and finish setting up my room!! I told you she was a badass. I'll have pics to prove it soon.

Without further ado, a tour of our Mardi Gras inspired living room/kitchen
Keep your arms & legs in the trolly and please hold your questions for the end ;)

On the left you'll find what my dad calls The Pimp Chair. Say hi to Winston! The middle picture shows what our coffee table looks like. And on the right is what our entertainment center looks like. You'll notice a small collection of our Mardi Gras beads hanging in the corner....just wait, there's more...

No room in any living space of mine is complete without Audrey. Yes, I have two more Audrey wall arts as well. The lamp on the left side of the Audrey vignette is Nicole's and we actually used one of Ethan's lampshades and just sprayed painted it black!

By the way, Nicole (and my mother for that matter) have a motto when it comes to decorating:

"When In Doubt, Spray Paint It!"

On the right, is the bar area that separates the kitchen and living room. That super awesome painting that looks kind of like Nicole is named "Jasar". As we were moving in, Ethan was astounded by how cool the painting is and noticed it said something on the corner (which actually reads Jason) and goes, "What's her name? JASAR?!" and the name just kind of stuck...especially because Ethan then began to hit on Jasar and dub her as his girlfriend. I told you he was a character, is he not?

On the left you'll find the Mardi Gras mask that I picked up down in New Orleans back in February.

On the right, is only a small fraction of the beads we all collected in New Orleans! Crazy right?

The Story of Creeper Daniel:

And this guy on the right is one of my dearest friends, Daniel. We've known each other for 5 years, ever since we moved to college. Daniel used to live across the hall from me in the dorms freshman year. Since then we've become really close friends and he's part of our family called E214 (more on that later).

The picture on the left is dear Daniel as a little 10 year old boy. You're probably wondering why we have him framed in our living room, right?

Well you see, it's kind of an inside joke thing. One day, Daniel found this in his room and being the jerks that we are we all thought it was absolutely hilarious! For a while it lived on his fridge, until one day he decided I could have it.

And now, every day we get to look at creeper 10 year old Daniel. And every day he makes me laugh!

FAQ:

How many times did you have to flash people to get that many beads?
The answer: None --- I'm just that good I guess

You really have a picture of your friend in your living room when he was a little boy?
Yes
And you make fun of him on a daily basis?
Yes. Gotta have some thick skin on ya to roll dirty with this crowd ;)

Winston is such a thug. What's his street name?
Thank you, I'll be sure to let him know you think so. His street name is Lil Ice-Pick <-- Dubbed by Dan the Man himself.

You mad, bro?
I aint even mad.
